Anyway, moving on.. There are girls out there, like me, who don't want to remove their hairs so bleaching is one of the popular options out there for us. However, there are other ways to conceal unwanted hairs without bleaching or plucking, but I wont get into that right now (if y'all want a separate 'How To' blog post for that, do let me know in the comments below!).
There are a variety of bleaching kits out there but the one I use (and trust) is called Jolen and can be found in Boots or Superdrugs. The good thing about this product is that it also comes in one made for sensitive skin so basically no one is missing out! Jolen creme bleach is a quick yet effective way to lighten dark, unwanted hairs. The pack contains a sheet of plastic for the products to be mixed on, a spatula, the cream and the powder (accelerator). The pack is very in-expensive, comes in two sizes and the smaller one that I tend to buy, lasts a very long time.
How To | Mixing & Bleaching
Mixing the two products to create the bleach is very easy. Using the spatula provided, measure out half of the spatula of the powder and pour it on the plastic sheet provided, then wipe the spatula and take out a spatula full of the cream and place it on the sheet too then mix the two products together to create a paste. Use straight away to avoid it drying. Make sure the area (in this case the brows) you'd like to bleach is clean of any oil or makeup and wash with cold water before bleaching.
DO A PATCH TEST!
There are a lot of ways to actually shape your eyebrows with the paste, you can (as I do it) just go in straight away and use the spatula to shape the brows or you can shape the brows with a stencil or free hand with a brow pencil prior to applying the cream (for those who find it difficult to shape brows) and then bleach the unwanted hairs. Once the unwanted hairs are covered, leave for about 5-15 mins depending on your skin colour before wiping or washing the dry product off your face. When I do my makeup in the mornings, I still use a brow pencil or a brow powder to define my brows but this step is optional.
Who can use this bleaching technique?
Now I'm quite light skinned, so I do leave the product on for a full 15 mins so I know that the hairs are close to invisible. However, if you're a woman of colour, then I'd suggest you test it somewhere away from your face so that you're happy with the results, or if you like taking risks then try it for 5 minutes on your brows, wash it off then assess the situation :P ..then, if you feel that you need it to be lighter, bleach in 1-2 minute intervals keeping in mind that this bleach is very fast working.
Any questions?..
I hope this helps, if you have any questions please feel free to comment below or drop me an email :D
