Nothings worse than buying a full sized product and realising that it just doesn't work for you when you get home. Unlike in the states, over here in London, it is highly unlikely that we can return used beauty or skin care products after realising that it either breaks us out, gives us a rash or just isn't in our shade.
A tip that I so often try to do is get samples before making a purchase, especially an expensive one. Or, even if it isn't really expensive, I understand that some of us are on a budget when it comes to spending. Really, there is no shame in that. At all.
Most beauty counters or shops will happily give you samples if you ask, for example: The Body Shop recently gave me a sample of one of their Body Butters. Just ask!
Also, when makeup brands are launching a new product, they usually have a number of samples they can give out, like in a first come, first serve basis. A couple examples are: Maybelline's BB cream, Garnier's moisturiser (the one in the green bottle, forgot the name, sorry!) and a most recent one is Maybelline's new Fit Me foundation. They are giving away around 150,000 7 day foundation samples to the first 150,000 people that apply for it. Check the Maybelline's website if you're interested.
So, there's nothing wrong with getting samples, they're there to be taken and tested, right?! Plus, it saves you A LOT of money.
I try before I buy, do you?
